Between the Buns Supports USO with $1,140 Donation

The Tuesday after the 2011 Fourth of July weekend, the Buns gave 10% of all our food sales that day to USO Indiana for the purpose of making Care Packages for Indiana Troops all over the world.

Buns Awarded Best Lunch in Michiana

In a gruelling bracket style competition, the Buns overcame 7 other entries to be declared "Best Lunch in Michiana".

The competition consisted of local and national restaurants in the Michiana area. The fans of Between the Buns continually pushed us into the next round for three consecutive rounds. We really have our fans/customers to thank for this award. Your support really made it all possible!

The Buns gets Top 8 placement in ESPN's "#1 Sports Bar in North America" search
On August 27 the voting opened for ESPN's search for the "#1 sports bar in the country".

Competing against sports bars in big cities like Detroit, Santa Monica (next to L.A.) and Green Bay the Buns had an uphill battle. Voting was open to everyone and the Buns had a LOT of local support. With morning appearances on WNDU and Fox28 and a piece on WSBT right after Saturday night football, and additional mentions on WNDU (2x) and Fox28 the Buns had a good shot at winning this national recognition spot.

In the end, ESPN changed the name of the competition to "1 Sports Bar in North America" and gave the title to a sports bar in Toronto, Canada, which happens to be the location of the headquarters of TSN (The Sports Network) [Canada's version of ESPN]. Coincidentally, ESPN is also a 20% shareholder of TSN. [source Wikipedia]
